Slinky Thought

There is no end to the cycle, only a continuation. Recognizing where we are in the cycle gives the effect of looking into the future because the same thing happens every time. History is important because it repeats itself.

Consider looking at a stretched out slinky from the side compared to looking through it down the middle. From one side it looks like a line in a wave pattern moving up and down continuously but looking at it head on and compressed we see the shape of a single cycle within the pattern.

From the side angle it is easy to see two recognizable points which mark the completion of one cycle. One point is the half life and the second is the completion. There is no beginning or end though because there is a beginning and end at every point of the line, infinitely. No matter what angle you look at it on its side you will still see the same up down modulating wave pattern.

Why does this matter? There is no start or finish to life, only cycles that continue infinitely which are made up of cycles and so one. Like a slinky made of a micro coil slinky. We like to think in terms of beginning and end, start and finish because it is difficult to see out side the boundaries within the cycle but the reality around us is that all things are infinite and happening this way.

Left to our imagination much of the population thought the earth was flat but the reality was much bigger, in fact, we discovered that if you were to travel in one direction on the earth you’d never find the end but you would see the same thing over and over again. There is no end to the cycle, only continuation, forever.

I like to imagine that by recognizing the cycles which I’m in and are around me I can take some control of my evolution, optimize opportunities and make iterations each time around to improve in some way.

The Student Has Little to Fear

We’re all fumbling through the cosmic dance of life giving it our best. One thing that’s become clear in the age of information is that we are ignorant of most. With the acceptance that we might not know everything comes the possibility of growth and expansion in any part of life. The student has little to fear.

Omens

Omens disrupt the script at random intervals and ask us to step outside our story for a moment and observe the path we’re on.

Like waking up inside a dream and realizing it’s a dream, you look around and see that everyone is playing their part not knowing that they’re in your dream. Then, if you’re lucky enough to stay aware past this moment without waking up the next thing we see is that we have total control of our path.

Desire

Desire is the distinction between what I am and what I wish I was. To bridge the gap it can be helpful to let desires die and find contentedness in the present. This somehow creates space for expansion and often a manifestation of the that original desire in miraculous ways.

Why Not?

Be the expression of the essence of life.

Ask Good Questions

The one asking questions controls the conversation but in order to question one must also spend more time listening than speaking.

Gratitude

Gratitude is the point of humble acceptance.

Dispassionate Love

Love is the observation of the whole, without the opinion of rightness or wrongness to one piece or another.
